The way points of this bicycle route:

Then the signed bike path goes to alongside the street instead of on the street.

somewhere around here (but I'm not sure where) the official signed bike path crosses the river to its south side -- on its own little bridge.

I'm not sure of the details thru here -- follow the signs + painted bike path markings on the pavement surface.

somewhere around here the official signed bike path goes through a tunnel about 500 meters long -- with lights.

official signed bike path comes out of the tunnel around here.

around here the official signed bike path follows along the southeast side of the railroad line.

Blumau / Prato Isarco

here the way forward is blocked, and official signed bike path turns South and climbs toward the main SS12 road.

here the official signed bike path goes on the sidewalk on the north side of the main SS12 road.

see sign for Steinegg / Collepietra, cross the main SS12 road and start climbing SouthEast or East.

Steinegg / Collepietra

from here, follow signs for Welschnofen

around here is the high point of the first main climb up the northeast side of the ridge. Next it crosses to the southwest side of the ridge with some ups + downs into and thru Welschnofen

turn Left for Welschnofen / Nova Levanta

Welschnofen / Nova Levante

Welschnofen / Nova Levante

here turn Left and join the main road up through the Eggental and climb steadily up to the Karerpass / Passo Costalunga

about here pass by the little Karersee lake (Lago di Carezza) - clear mountain water

lots of horses around here

Karerpass / Passo Costalunga

elevation of the pass is 1745 meters -- several food options. On the other (East) side of the pass is the Val di Fassa -- the road continues down to Vigo di Fassa. But on this ride we're turning around back to Bozen / Bolzano.

Here turn Right and follow road for Nigerpass / Passo di Nigra and for Tiers / Tires

St Zyprian / San Cipriano

steep hill down through St Zyprian

Tiers / Tires

Tiers / Tires

here turn Left and join the road coming down from Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi

when reach the main SS12 road, things are a little complicated -- but the official signed bike path is close at hand -- so just follow it roughly SouthWest down the river toward Bozen / Bolzano

Blumau / Prato Isarco

around here the official signed bike path is on the sidewalk on the northwest side of the main SS12 road

Blumau

after this just follow the bike path in reverse back to Bozen / Bolzano. Here it soon turns Right (North) off the road and goes down by the railroad track.

Route Details

Gives a couple of ways to get between the Adige river valley and the main pass to the "heart" of the Dolomites -- which avoid some of the higher-traffic sections of roads. Also the road through and above Steinegg is rather pretty -- I'd ride from Bozen up to the ridge above Steinegg and go back the same way just for fun even if I didn't care about getting to the Karerpass or the Dolomites. To me the key is to avoid the long tunnel at the bottom of the Eggental road (even though it's closer to Bozen). The only disadvantage to going through Steinegg to the Karerpass is that you end up on the main Eggental road anyway -- but higher up where it has less traffic. And the bike path from Bozen to Blumau is kind of interesting in itself.
This route not checked by me since 2008.
