Bishop CA to Lake Sabrina

Rated as one of the Top 10 descents in the US by Active.com (2010). Climbs 5200 feet from Bishop California to Lake Sabrina. Put this one on your 'Perfect Verticle Mile' list. It's the high desert. Take as much water as you can carry, at least 4 bottles. Slather on the sun screen. Even the morning sun will smoke you like a cheap cigar at this elevation. No shade on this ride. Water is some times availabe a Fire Station in Aspen (2 miles from end). Never drink untreated water in the Sierras unless you want your guts riddled with these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giardia_lamblia Food and water at cafe at lake Sabrina. Good morning ride in summer. Afternoon temps in summer can be over 100 degrees in Bishop but mid 70s at lake. You can preview the ride using street view on maps.google.com by BuenosAires
