rode along east side of river on Swiss bike route #6 (gravel for half of the way to Zernez)
the gravel stretch paralleled the railway tracks
a few tunnels along 28 east
Stelvio Hotel was a cyclist haven - free bike laundry and bike garage!
no passport needed to cross border
R onto smaller, quieter road
enjoy a bratwurst at the top
Right to return to Switzerland
end of day trip up the Stelvio pass
leave Santa Maria on day 5, again on route 28
L turn to access the bike path (radroute)
R turn onto Radroute for cyclists along river
continue along Radroute all the way to Bolzano, passing through miles of apple orchards
follow Radroute out of town into Dolomites
Take a ski gondola up the mountains for a great view!
Left onto peri cicli (bike route along river) all the way into Trento
