The way points of this bicycle route:
Exit the chateau, cross the railway and at head right along N937
Turn right along N937
Pass through Braibant, staying on the N937. Lovely view with a line of trees as you descend
TR at XR, SP Reuleau. ( The sign is hidden and can be see from the other direction)heading north.
SO at XR, SP Assesse, enter Vincon (having climbed through Realeau)
Having descended, climb to the obvious wider road coming in from the left
TR at TJ, no SP along N946 towards Gesves and Assesse. Shortly afterwards pass the right turn to Natoye
In Lez Fontaines TL, SP Assesse by the large white statue. Climb steeply then a long descent into Assesse
Having entered Assesse, cross under the railway line. When the shop appears LHS, TL SP Crupet, along the cobbled Rue de Frmes. (There is a boulangerie further down in the village, go to the church and TR)
Follow signes for Crupet. This is a lovely road, open views and a descent
Pass under E411/A4
Enter Crupet. There are 2 cafes here.
Bear right SP Ronchinne, Mont-s/Meuse and climb
Continue climbing through the woods
Having reached the outskirts of Mont, will now decend
Take care as this is easy to miss. You'll descend through the long village and having gone across the roundabout. At Mont, take the road of Tienne de Mont on the left and continue onto Gadinne. If you do miss it, there is another road signed to Godinne LHS a little later that will take you too the route.
Bear left towards Godinne and descend quickly
Enter Godinne
Just after the railway station Cross the railway at the obvious place and TL towards Yvoir. OR Push the bikes past the railings and along the road straight ahead, then TL at Rue de Pont , cross the narrow bridge over the Meuse and then find the cycletrack along the west side of the river. Follow this too the bridge that crosses just south of Yvoir and take this to go north and rejoin the route. This adds about 5 km and is scenic)
In Yvoir, enter the town, bearing left along Rue de la Fenderie that turns into Rue du Putis du Champs. Cross the railway track.
At Yvoir, take the left, and through the valley of Bocq, climb again towards Crupet. Along Rue du Blacet You'll be going the right way if you pass through a quarry with slabs LHS. The quarry is quite long. This ascent is great, wooded and gradual taking you up 100metres of ascent.
As you enter Crupet, take the right turn at the Y junction, SP Durnal. The road will climb steeply now. At the next junction TR SP Durnal and cimb steeply. (If you need a cafe carry straight on here and there are 2, 500 metres further on)
Steep Climb
In Durnal, take the rue Elisabeth to the right and descend towards Spontin. The bar is 100 metres further on, on the LHS
Pass Eurocamp LHS on leaving Durnal. Road zig zag descends
TR at TJ, SP Spontin, follow signs for Spontin
TL at TJ in Spontin, pass chateau LHS
Having crossed the railway TR along N937 towards Braibant and Ciney
Cross under E411/A4
TL and return to Chateau
