Again, watch for traffic before crossing.

Bunch up with other riders and begin to "claim" the lane.

Ride single file to let any cars pass after the narrow bridge.

After turning left, there is normally plenty of room to ride two abreast.

Try and anticipate the lights ahead to keep your momentum.

Bunch up as a group in pairs. When the traffic is clear, you will hear someone call that it is safe to change lane. Everyone then changes into the right lane in preparation for the right turn ahead.

Olympic Park

Watch for traffic. Select a low gear. Be prepared to stop for traffic. Once you make the turn, follow the cycle lane around Olympic Park.

You will begin to speed up as you enter the down hill bend. If the traffic is clear, start pairing up and move into the left car lane. Newer, less confident riders should drop back before they enter the bend.

Mount the footpath after crossing Olympic Bvd.

You will reach a fork in the footpath. Take the left path which leads up to the first footbridge that crosses Australia Ave.

Turn right and take the second footbridge across Bennelong Rd.

Bicentennial Park

Turn right onto the path as soon as you have crossed the second footbridge.

Turn left at the lights but be sure there are no cars speeding to get through the lights from the right. Get ready to drop into a low gear to take the steep little hill.

North Strathfield Station

Newer/less fit riders may wish to turn left (north) into Queen St to head back to the start/finish. Fitter riders continue straight through the roundabout.

Concord

This street is very quiet but also very narrow. Be prepared to drop into single file and let cars pass. Don't encourage them to pass as you approach the roundabout.

Turn left and drop into single file in the cycle lane.

Be cautious of traffic coming from the right.

Concord West
