by Scot_Gore

The way points of this bicycle route:

Begin Bloomington City Hall. This route is built to explore some of the corridors and roads proposed by the Bloomington Alternative Transportation Task Force. There are 2 versions, this one with node points showing points to talk about along the route and another with turn cues to lead the rider through the route.

110th Street is one of the roads to have proposed on street bike lanes

This portion of Normandale (south of Old Shak Rd) is proposed to have on street bike lanes.

Normandale becomes Auto Club Road

Proposed have a bike lane up Hampshire. It would be requiried to gain some sort of easement either through the Bethany Property or along the CP Rail Corridor

Good place to stop and look for good canidates for a public corridor through this section.

Beginning here Nesbitt Ave was Traffic calmed a few years back. This is one of the proposed street treatments discussed in the task force meeting.

Traffic calming treatments stop here.

Traffic calming efforts resume. Would it be possible for the calming treatment to become continuous through this section.

End of Traffic Calming Treatments

Xerxes Ave is one of the purposed streets for on street bike lanes.

86th is one of the streets proposed for on street bike lanes.

Good place to illustrate"short cuts" that alternative transportation users make use of and should we consider some sort of treatment to make them more "official"

First Half of Ride Complete - 14.7 miles. Re-group point, stop at City Hall and allow some riders to exit, others to join, and others to continue into the 2nd half. Have a short conversation about what we've seen so far. Second half of ride is 12.5 miles long.

Lyndale is under construction currently

102nd Street is one of the proposed roads for an on street bike lane.

Xcel Powerline Corridor. Proposal to run a street segregated bike trail along to entire corridors lenght.

Good place to talk about providing treatments for existing "short cuts" already utilizied by alternative transportation users.

Good place to talk about appropriate treatments at busy trail crossings. Grade seperation, traffic control devices, who has right of way, etc.

Follow curve in road to northbound Columbus

86th is one of the proposed streets for a on street bike lane.

On street lanes are already painted on Old Cedar Ave.

American Blvd is proposed to have an segregated trail of some kind.

Left (S) on Chicago

Good place to stop and look for a fesible way to connect any future trail to Richfield.

Stop and look for fesible ways to bridge to Richfield

86th is one of the proposed streets for a on street bike lane.

Take note of quality of rail crossing here.

A curb cut here would allow users uncomfortable with the busy traffic on 90th to gain quick access to neighborhoods streets.

End of Ride 27 miles total
