The way points of this bicycle route:
From bus station walk along pavement to right and cross at lights into Quarry Street going right.
Turn left at the first roundabout from Quarry St (next to car showroom) into Johnstone Road and turn right.
Carry on uphill beyond right hand bend until you reach Chriss Avenue then turn left into it.
Take right fork and go to the right.
Turn righ into Carscallan Road then go right again towards roundabout.
Turn left and go through next roundabout up the hill on the A723
Carry on up untill you reach the Muttonhole Road ( 1 mile approx)
Turn right from A723
Turn 4th on left at Meikle Earnock Road junction and follow the road all the way to Shawton Road.
Turn left at Meikle Earnock Road junction and follow all the way to Shawton Road
Turn right at tree with equestrian sign.
Turn right here into A726 East Kilbride to Strathaven Road. Caution: Beware of fast moving traffic!
Turn off A726 left into Millwell Road
After passing through small hamlet of Leaburn turn left into Ardochrig Road.
Go straight on.
Engage low gear.
At bottom of hill turn left.
Go left to Strathaven.
Turn left to Lethame Ho.
Turn right here into Lethame Road and keep straight on.
Lunch stop at cafe in Common Green.
1st left to mini-roundabout opp castle. Turn right into Kirk St. and then left into Todshill St.
Straight on into Lesmahagow Road.
Fast decent!
Turn left out of Lesmahagow Road into Sandford then right into Stonehouse Road.
Rough surface.
Turn left into Udston Road. Carry on to Stonehouse.
Turn right here and carry on to mini-roundabout at Lawrie St.
Turn left at mini-roundabout.
After road bridge over there is a steep bending decent.
Go right after stone bridge.
Steep climb for half a mile.
Keep straight on.
Turn right here.
Steep bending decent that goes under derelict railway bridge.
Turn right here at cottage and go over bridge at River Avon.
At mini-roundabout turn right.
Turn left into Raploch St.
Turn left into London St.
Carry straight on through roundabout.
Go straight on.
On the left is Chatlerhault Country Park where there are fine stable buildings that once belonged to the Duke of Hamilton.
Take 3rd exit at mini roundabout into Townhead St.
Turn left at lights.
Take right hand lane and go straight at lights then take left hand lane to arrive at bus station.
