Augustów to Okolek (return trip not shown)

Okolek was the site of a WWII battle between a Polish soldiers and an overwhelming German force. My return was more or less via the same route. Little traffic, half gravel roads, I took several wrong turns because sign-posts are very very limited and forest roads are not shown on my road maps. Gravel road conditon depends upon the weather. This was spring and some roads had deep dust and a few hundred meters had to be walked with my 700C wheels. I was greeted at the memorial by a lovely tan horse and a black and white cow, both chained to a tether. by Echidna
