The way points of this bicycle route:
Pass church, on left, continue over stone bridge. Mary Ward's Pub is on right in the village.
Bear left at fork to Knockadolla. A large junction is slated for construction here.
The famous Turoe Stone is located at the Turoe Farm and Leisure Park, here, on the left.
Turn right, then left.
Bear left, then turn right for Kiltormer.
Bear left on main road, then take the first right.
Turn right, avoiding return to the main road.
Clonfert Cathedral is an easy and worthwhile side trip. Turn left here for Brendannstown to reach it.
Turn left on main road. Cross the River Shannon and continue to Banagher.
Turn left in town center.
Bear left for An Clochan.
Turn right, and follow this flat road across open ground and bog.
Cross straight over the N52 primary road.
Bear right at the fork.
Cross the main road and take the right fork. (We call this "Straight Right" in New England!)
Stay left at the fork for Brittas.
Turn left onto the main road.
The beautiful Sleive Bloom range is on your right along this hilly section.
Bear right on the N80, then stay straight when the N80 turns right, and then go left at Bridge Street.
Bear right on Harbour Street.
Follow road through a right turn for Emo.
Continue through Emo to Inn Cross.
Straight at crossroads. Go under the M7 motorway.
Turn left on the main road. Cross the River Barrow.
Cross the Grand Canal. Then turn right for Athy on the canal road. (There is a pub on each side of the canal here!)
Turn left on Leinster Street for Athy.
