Start at DC South Cornerstone, erected in 1793, visible in the seawall below the Jones Point Lighthouse. Dip back tire in the Potomac
Get on the Jones Point Trail and follow it to the Mt. Vernon Trail
Turn Left on Pendleton Street
Take an immediate right to return to the Mt. Vernon Trail
Cross over Boundary Channel

Go over the GW Parkway on the bike/ped bridge
Turn right onto sidewalk along Lynn St.
Cross Potomac River on Key Bridge
Follow sidewalk around park to 34th Street NW
At 34th Street NW set up to make the turn onto M Street (when the light changes)
Turn Left on M Street
M Becomes Canal Road NW
Past Georgetown driveway, get onto sidewalk
Turn right to go down the hill and into the Foundry Branch Tunnel.
Turn right on the Capital Crescent Trail
Northwest Boundary Marker #4 to the right inside the reservoir
Dalecarlia Tunnel
After a trail overpass, turn right onto the Long Branch Trail (unmarked) and then take the immediate left.
At the intersection of trails, take the path to the right that leads uphill . This path takes you onto local streets.
Get onto the street at the end of the trail. This is Albermarle. Follow it up a big hill.
Left onto Jamestown at the bottom of the hill.
Turn right onto Dalecarlia Drive
Go Around Westmoreland Circle
Turn onto Western Avenue
Northwest Boundary Marker #6 to left just past Fessenden Street NW

Turn right onto Verbana St. NW -- Just beyond the house at the corner (along East-West highway) is the North Boundary Stone.

Take a soft right on Eastern Avenue NW
Northeast Boundary Marker #1 - bronze plaque in place of stone in the sidewalk in front of a shop (stone was accidentally bulldozed during the construction)
Turn Left on Georgia and immediately onto the sidewalk at Jessup Blair park
Ride through the Park to the overpass
Cross the tracks on it (legally you need to walk your bike...legally)
Take the left exit down the ramp.

Take a soft right onto 52nd Avenue

Ride under the BW Parkway and cross Hospital Drive, then take the soft right onto Cheverly Avenue
At a stop light near Route 50, turn left onto Columbia Park Road to go over Route 50.
Go past the Cheverly Metro
Turn right on 64th Avenue
Right on State St.
Left on Julewood Ave.
Right on N Englewood Dr.
Right on Addison Road
Left on Eastern Avenue NE, [Northeast Boundary marker #8 is in the woods straight at the end of Eastern to the right but hard to reach]
Turn right on Southern Avenue NE - [100 feet east of intersection of Eastern and Southern Avenues - Eastern Boundary Marker] This is also where the Chesapeake Beach Rail Trail will go.
Turn right on Banks Place NE[To the right is the Marvin Gaye Park Trail]
Make immediate left onto 63rd St NE
63rd St NE becomes Southern Ave NE

Turn left on 31st St SE and follow the curve back onto Gainsville St.

This stretch of road has fast traffic, narrow lanes and no parking so, it has a low Level of service and you may want to use the sidewalk
Southeast Boundary Stone #5 - Past Mississippi Avenue, next to the sidewalk along Southern Avenue in front of the Southern Avenue metro station
Southeast Boundary Stone #6 - 901 Southern Avenue
Cross South Capital Street SE and turn left onto Indian Head Highway for a few feet - Southeast Boundary Stone #7 is just to the left in parking lot
Turn right immediately to get on the access road (Oxon Run Drive) and continue alongside Indian Head Highway
Turn right on Talbert Drive
At the end of Talbert, cross through the school parking lot to the left of the school and go to the back of the parking lot.
After going past the school, there is a corner where the new parking lot and old parking lot meet. There you'll find a very narrow and poorly maintained path. Follow that.
"Trail" leads between two fences (very narrow) and onto N. Huron Drive
Turn right on N. Huron Drive (unmarked but it's the street)
Across from Mohican Dr, at a small park turn right into the park.
Turn left onto Oxon Run Trail
Bridge is washed out and so there's a low water crossing here.
Turn left on road at the end of the trail. [This can be considered the ending point for those who are not obsessive. The remainder of the ride is hilly and far from the Boundary]
Go straight at the intersection of trails and roads [you can go left here too, both routes go to the same place - going left will take you through the Oxon Hill farm]
Cross through the gate and across the parking lot to the far end
Turn right onto Bald Eagle Road - the overpass.
Turn right on Oxon Hill Road [after the underpass there's a bike lane]
Past the second Port America Grande driveway will be a bike trail. Turn right
Turn right at the river to go over the Wilson Bridge ATL.
Turn left on the Washington Street Bridge Deck.
Turn left on the Mt. Vernon Trail at the south end of the bridge deck.
Turn right on trail down to the Jones Point Lighthouse.
Jones Lighthouse. The end point of the ride. Dip front tire and head to Alexandria for refreshments.
