Bright

This is the start of the Alpine Delight Audax ride (100K & 200K)

Freeburgh

Good views up to Mt Feathertop to the South as you proceed up the Ovens River valley

Harrietville

From here you start the climb to Mount Hotham. The road climbs steeply out of Harrietville then eases a bit until you get to The Meg.

The Meg

Very steep short climb

Great Alpine Road

Fantastic views across the Victorian Alps

Mount Hotham summit

Climb up past the Razorback and around the Mount Hotham summit

Hotham Heights

Ski village. Usually not many shops open early in the morning. There is a general store near The Big D

Dinner Plain

First checkpoint for both the 100K and 200K ride. Stop for a coffee and a muffin. The 100K ride turns around here and returns to Harrietville for the finish. The 200K ride proceeds to Omeo.

Cobungra

High country properties outside the Alpine National Park

Omeo Hill

A big descent down Omeo Hill to Omeo (then a big climb back after lunch)

Omeo

Checkpoint 2 and lunch for the 200K ride, then retrace route, stopping again at Dinner Plain (check point 3), then proceed to Harrietville for the finish.
