The way points of this bicycle route:
This ride could easily start from the Richmond Park & Ride.
Continue straight onto Huntington Rd.
Turn left onto Rte 17. Start climbing upper Appalachian Gap.
Turn right onto Rte 100
Turn left onto Covered Bridge Rd. Cross bridge.
Stop at the yuppified Warren Country Store. Be sure to look over the side of the bridge.
Turn left onto Flat Iron Rd, then right onto Brook Rd.
Turn right onto Roxbury Mtn. Rd. Start climbing. The really steep stuff starts when the pavement stops.
Turn right onto Rte 12A. There's a real country store on the right, across from the tiny Roxbury Historical Society building.
Turn right onto Rte 12.
Turn right onto Camp Brook Rd. Start clibing Rochester Gap. Remember, the more water in the brook, the farther you are from the top.
A nice country store and a beautiful green to relax in. Head south on Rte 100 when done.
Turn right onto Rte 73. Start easy, long climb up Brandon Gap. You can hit 50 mph on the descent.
You probably don't need a stop here, but the store at the corner is run by some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Turn right onto Rte 53.
Stop and splash some cool water on your face, washing that salt off your face.
Turn right onto Upper Plains Rd. Turns to hard-packed dirt.
Turn left onto Beaver Pond Rd.
Turn left onto Pratt Rd.
Turn left onto Rte 125.
Turn right onto Rte 116. Large convenience store on corner. Fresh coffee!
Turn right, staying on Rte 116. Store in Bristol at top of hill and nice green.
Nice convenience store at corner. Turn right onto Hollow Rd. Alternatively, continue north on Rte 116 and take North Rd at top of hill. Follow all the way into Richmond.
Turn left onto Main Rd, returning to Richmond. Two country stores a mile north, in Huntington.
Continue straight onto Cochran Rd. or left if finishing in Richmond.
