6-Bowland-climbs

This routes takes you on a scenic tour of the Forest of Bowland, starting from Spring Wood picnic centre car park, Whalley. It is a strenuous 112 kms (70 miles) with about 1,750 m (5,750 ft) of ascent spread over 6 main climbs, some of which are very steep. Watch out for sheep and tourist traffic on the descents! Cafe stop at Scorton halfway round, and also possible at Dunsop Bridge and Waddington. You'll like this one if you are fit enough to tackle it!by ColinJ
