The way points of this bicycle route:

Bethesda

After crossing Rockville Pike at the crosswalk, you start by heading up Edson Lane.

North Bethesda

Just after where Waycroft Way crosses Edson, you can pick up the North Bethesda Trolley Trail.

Cross Tuckerman Lane at the crosswalk.

Once you cross Tuckerman Lane, take the driveway into Brighton Gardens Assisted Living.

Almost at the end of the parking lot for Brighton Gardens, the bike trail forks off to the left.

Although not shown on the map, the bike trail has its own bridge over I-270.

At this point, the bike trails runs along (or occasionally, on) Fleming Avenue.

The bike trail, which is running along Fleming Avenue, forks off to the left.

Although it is not obvious on the map, the bike trail has its own bridge over I-495.

Bethesda

The bike path joings Montgomery Drive here, running sometimes along and sometimes on Montgomery Drive.

Beyond Beech Avenue, the bike path goes back to being a separate trail, not on a road.

The North Bethesda Trolley Trail ends here. Continue on down Old Georgetown Road. You may want to ride on the sidewalk here, as Old Georgetown is often quite busy.

At Woodmonth Avenue, Old Georgetown becomes one way in the wrong direction. To continue, turn right onto Woodmont.

If you want to go to Bethesda Metro, turn left onto Edgemoor, which will take you directly into the station. However, if you want to get to the Capital Crescent Trail, keep going on Woodmont.

Cross Bethesda Avenue at the crosswalk, then turn right.

You can join the Capital Crescent Trail (which will take you into downtown Washington, DC) here, at about mile 3.
