The way points of this bicycle route:
Meet at 10:00 am at the Nelson & District Community Centre parking lot (305 Hall St). There will be a colorful bike parade through town. Come with your bike or yourself decorated! Family- friendly.
Turn right at Baker St.
Travel down Baker St, cross the 3A Hwy, turn left on Railway St
Parade ends at Cottonwood Falls Park. Tour begins here, moving from the park down Government Road towards Hwy 3A.
Turn right on Hwy 3A.
Follow Hwy 3A across river. Take care crossing the bridge - if it makes you nervous, cross to the pedestrian sidewalk on the opposite side.
Turn right on Hwy 6 for a 1 km detour to Evergreen Health Food Store for lunch break.
Lunch meeting point: We will meet by the river, across the road from the store. Lunch is being offered at a discount.
Turn right on Robson Access Rd
Turn left onto Broadwater Rd
Curve L onto Castlegar-Robson Bridge
Turn left on Columbia Ave
Keep straight on Columbia Ave, across Hwy 3.
L on 22nd St
R on 6th Ave
The end point for the day riders is the park beside the Castlegar Aquatic Centre (2101 - 6th Ave; Tel: 365-3386). Please check in with us at W4C so we know you made it! Check-in deadline: 5:00 pm.
To go to the Kinnaird Community Church for the night, go further up along 6th, then turn R on 24th St
Road jogs L when crossing 10th Ave.
