The way points of this bicycle route:
The road gets a little rougher here (chipseal, and gravel debris from driveways, but not a huge deal for road bikes)
This lets you out just after the summit of the malahat, its all downhill from here! (for a little bit at least) This is the high traffic area, though theres a wide paved shoulder with rumble stips in between you and the traffic (though if theres roadkill or debris you may need to cross the rumble strips)
A nice scenic ride along victorias waterfront, lots of slow moving traffic (and cyclists)
