The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at North Troy border crossing. If you are interested in riding with a group, check out http://100-200.org
Right onto Elm Street. Becomes 105 south in a couple blocks
Continue straight onto 101 south where 105 turns off to the west
Merge onto 100 south
Stay on 100, NOT 100C
Straight across 15 onto Church Street (temp. leaving Rte. 100)
Left onto Main Street
Right onto Depot Street
You can turn right and follow Stagecoach Rd., avoiding a busy section of Rte 100, but it's quite a bit hillier.
Right onto 100 south
Left, staying on 100
Break at the Waterbury green.
Straight, staying on Rte 2. You can stay on Rte. 100 and climb Duxbury Gap. This saves a few miles and gets in an extra climb on new pavement, but you'll miss the incredibly scenic, shallower climb up the Mad River valley.
Right onto Rte. 100B
Rejoin Rte. 100
Break at the Rochester town green.
If the climb up to Rte 4 is getting to you, you can take a left onto River Rd and bypass the worst of it, coming out unto Rte 4 at the old town center. Most of this road is dirt, though it is usually smooth hardpan.
Left on 4 & 100. Nice descent coming.
Right, staying on 100. There's a snack stand in a remodeled caboose at this corner.
Left, on 103 & 100
Keep going past the turn, following Rte. 103, to green after river crossing.
Break at green. Return to follow Rte. 100 south.
Left, rejoining Rte. 100. You will soon start the Terrible Mtn. climb. Great bike shop at this corner.
Left on 155 & 100
Break at Weston town green.
Right on 11 & 100
Left, staying on 100
Left on 30 & 100
Right, staying on 100. Good place for a break, though there are no stores here. Some people continue down Rte. 30 to avoid the Mt. Snow climb, finishing south of Brattleboro.
Left on 9 & 100
Right, staying on 100
It would be wise to turn right onto Wilmington Cut Off and avoid the climb out of Jacksonville, though you will also miss a jamming descent.
Left onto Tunnel St. Leave Rte. 100!
End at Mass border!
