| Sunny Side Road near Sandpoint, Idaho | bleckb | Jul 11th | United States > Idaho > Sandpoint | 16.6km | Recreational, Onroad, Offroad, Low traffic, Rough, Safe, Rural, Scenic |
| the road is mostly dirt and rather rough in points, but beautifully scenic. Maybe half of the route is paved. The length of the route is only from one part of highway 200 to another that comes out a couple of miles down the highway. | |||||
| Dover, Sandpoint, Priest River Loop | bleckb | Jul 11th | United States > Idaho > Sandpoint | 81.6km | Recreational, Training, Low traffic, Scenic |
| There's a 3.5-mile stretch of dirt just before mile 16, but it's well maintained. Riding further south to Oldtown/Newport should add about 10-15 miles to the loop. | |||||
| Sandpoint Bottle Bay Rd | bleckb | Jul 10th | United States > Idaho > Sandpoint | 8.2km | Recreational, Training, Onroad, Smooth, Low traffic, Safe, Rural, Scenic |
| We only rode to the end point and turned around but the road goes on for quite some time. I hope to re-ride it and get a better sense of the road, but it's worth a go. Traffic volume was higher than expected for a narrow rural road for the first few miles, but not dangerous in anyway I could see. | |||||
| Dover/Sandpoint, Idaho to Schweitzer Village | bleckb | Jul 8th | United States > Idaho > Dover | 24.8km | Recreational, Training, Onroad, Steep, Low traffic, Scenic |
| The first few miles from Dover to Sandpoint, to Boyer, are on a bike path. Boyer to Schweitzer Cutoff Road is mostly a bike lane. After that, it's fairly narrow shoulders and the climb itself has no shoulders, but very little traffic. The grade of the slope is between 3 and 8 percent according to my computer. The climb itself on Schweitzer Mtn. Road is almost exactly 9 miles with about 2400 feet of climbing. You'll be coming back down from the end point, which makes the ride longer. | |||||

| S. Fork Clearwater Century Ride | bhouser | Feb 29th | United States > Idaho > Grangeville | 160.7km | Recreational, Onroad, Smooth, Intermediate, Low traffic, Safe, Rural, Scenic, Touring |
| This is a companion ride for the Salmon River Tour. This ride features a low-traffic road along the South Fork of the Clearwater river, alternately through ponderosa pine parkland, steep, rocky cliffs, and dense fir forests, and past an occasional cascade. It's an out-and-back so close to the river that you're in danger of riding into it, and during the spring the river roars and churns. Full services in Elk City at the halfway point and a steady downhill afterward. What's not to like? | |||||
