The Lakes 8: Hardknott Wrynose and Kirkstone passes from Coniston Mr Bunbury Aug 20th 2009, 12:42 128.8km
Warm up over Birker Fell for the major ascent of Hardknott Pass. Ride over Wrynose pass into Ambleside for lunch, then take in Kirkstone Pass via The Struggle and descend into Patterdale. Turning left at the A66 takes you into Keswick, from where you can ride back to Ambleside and Coniston via Grasmere.
The Coniston Loop: 100 miles round the Lakes Mr Bunbury Aug 20th 2009, 12:36 163.5km
From Coniston, ride into Eskdale and up to Cockermouth, before taking in Whinlatter, Newlands and Honister passes. Go back up Borrowdale and sink a coffee in Keswick before riding home via Thirlmere, Grasmere and Ambleside.
