Nice route through Bellevue, stopping at Trader Joe's for picnic food, stopping at Marymoor for a picnic, then to Fremont Brewing Company via trails. Back to West Seattle via Dexter, 2nd Ave (prefer 3rd, actually), and E. Marginal Way. Most of the climbing is in the first 1/3 of the route, on the I-90 trail into Mercer Island and in Bellevue before you get to 156th. A good Saturday morning/afternoon ride. Leave early to avoid traffic in Bellevue. Nice bomb down Bel-Red Road. Strongly recommend doing this route counterclockwise as drawn. Would be much more difficult the other way.

Orcas Island is the hilliest island in the San Juans. But it is reasonably small and I think that even beginning bicycle tourists can do the route if they are reasonably strong on the bike. This route will get you from the ferry terminal to the primitive sites in the state park.
