Northwich to Worlds End and back tthew Jun 15th 145.3km Recreational, Onroad, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
Similar to the Plessey route, but with an extra loop at the end making it upto a full 90 miles. The loop is hilly too, so a fair bit tougher than the alternative.
Hartford to Plessey circular tthew Jun 8th United Kingdom > England > Northwich 111.6km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic, Touring
This route has virtually no busy road sections, though there are a few major routes to cross.
Cheshire Cat tthew Mar 31st United Kingdom > England > Altrincham 153.1km Onroad, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic, Touring
This is the route taken by the 2008 UCI Cheshire Cat cyclosportive, with some detours caused by missing signs! 95 miles in all, tough for me because I went too fast in the middle section. Goes up the infamous Mow Cop after 70 miles, can you make it all the way up?, (I didn't).
Weaver Valley clubrun, 16-03-08 tthew Mar 16th United Kingdom > England > Northwich 88.6km Recreational, Onroad, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
A 55 mile, fairly flat route. All on quiet lanes, with a cafe stop in Wales!
Cheshire 40 miler tthew Feb 17th United Kingdom > England > Northwich 63.2km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
A 40 mile circuit around the lanes of Cheshire. Includes some decent little climbs around Frodsham and Kelsall.
Hartford to Rainow circular tthew Feb 10th United Kingdom > England > Northwich 101.2km Training, Onroad, Steep, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
A challenging 65 mile route from Mid-Cheshire into the Peak District. Some big climbs in the middle of the ride.
Wayfarer tthew Feb 3rd United Kingdom > Wales > Wrexham 33.2km Recreational, MTB, Offroad, Low traffic, Rough, Rural, Scenic
head up the valley, on road at first and after a few miles, a track which leads up to the memorial plaque to “Wayfarer” at an altitude of 700m. Wayfarer was W M Robinson, a pioneer of off-road cycling soon after the First World War and the memorial was erected by the Rough Stuff Fellowship. The track used to have a fairly rideable surface, but erosion combined with 4x4s and motorcycle trail bikes have made it much rougher.
Northwich to Cat and Fiddle tthew Jan 27th United Kingdom > England > Northwich 101.8km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Rural, Scenic
Doesn't quite make the summit, but a decent ascent out of Macclesfield makes this a fairly tough 65 miler.
Cheshire 50 miler. tthew Jan 23rd United Kingdom > England > Northwich 77.7km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Low traffic, Safe, Rural, Scenic
50 miles around the countryside of Cheshire, on quiet roads with some good options for a cafe stop.
