From north Canberra, this ride travels out along the federal highway, turning off to Bungendore before heading north to Tarago and then up into the Bungonia region. Johnno's general store and takeaway marks the turnaround point.

This ride starts in the Belconnen area, rather than the marked Stromlo, to take it up to 150km each way. There is around 50km of unsealed road each way on this ride, and as it crosses the brindabella ranges it has a lot of climbing. I've done this ride a couple of times solo, once overnight, and it's always exciting.
