| ends in a campsite close to the airport. I picked up a bike box in BS bikes. There are many bike stores in Geneva. I had to go to four before I found one that would give me a bike box. There was quite a bit of road construction around the airport so this route should not be relied upon there. |

| the road over the great st bernard pass is wonderful until you reach the snow shed on the swiss side. I was happy that I had a good tail-light. I could not find a way around the snowshed. |

Awoid staying at the camp site where I ended up if you can. Expensive, staff were unfriendly and facilities were dirty. I was the only camper there, hmmm |

| a little hilly through the cinque terre park. Quite steep into (and out of) Moneglia. The road along the coast from Moneglia is actually a tunnel and bikes are not allowed. I did not have the guts to ride through it although I have heard about others doing so using a stop watch and bursts of speed. I had the time and the ... to climb out of there. My way was much more scenic. |

| This ends in riomaggiore, cinque terre. There was no camping there. I enjoyed the road above the five worlds more than the five worlds. Although pretty, the towns were populated by tourists not unlike myself. |

| great road until Thika. Then the shoulder is very iffy. I decided to turn north late in hte day. Eventually I ended up in the small village of Gutundu. Very hilly the last 10 or 15 kilometers. Give yourself enough time. Pretty good hotel there (Oasis Hotel). |

| This is a day tour of Hells Gate--one of the first parks to allow bicyles. A clock wise direction is preferable for me because the steep downhill is in bad shape--your milage may vary. A short excursion at the end to a small lake that used to be attached to the main lake. It is one of few public water front accesses to the lake. |

| This is a very nice ride to Lake Naivasha. Traffic is light on the old highway. Leave some time for stopping as you get to the the escarpment. There is a beautiful view of the Rift Valley. |

| This is a very unsafe route out of Nairobi. The shoulder is in very poor shape (May, 2009) and often missing. A mirror is essential so that you can keep an eye on traffic behind you. Rember that traffic is on the left hand in Kenya and make sure your mirror will work for this traffic.
