the etna monster loop meb444 May 30th United States > California > Paskenta 160.3km Training, Onroad, Difficult, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
almost no services; just beauty, quiet, and the challenge of one of the hardest century loops ever. The view from the top of the Mt. Etna climb makes the suffering worth it.

the beautiful river ride meb444 Feb 19th United States > California > Etna 67.2km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Smooth, Intermediate, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic, Touring
one of the prettiest river rides anywhere--roll along the Scott River for miles. Take the paved forest road at the campground site for a nice climb if you like.
climb for the pie--back meb444 Feb 15th United States > California > Quincy 33.9km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Steep, Difficult, Rural, Scenic
the route from the base of the Alleghany Ridge Road. For extra credit, take road 169 at the back of Emerald Cove Marina up to Oregon Hill Road and go left to rejoin Marysville Rd.--it's only 15% or so!
climb for the pie-out meb444 Feb 15th United States > California > Quincy 62.4km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Steep, Difficult, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
What would you do for fresh-baked pie? (And cake, muffins, cookies, etc.) Climb over the summit of Oregon Hill, around Bullard's Bar, and up from the San Juan River at 1500' to Alleghany at 5000'? You bet!
paco's loop from hell meb444 Jan 30th United States > California > Quincy 212.2km Training, Onroad, Steep, Difficult, Low traffic, Rural, Scenic
The double metric option on the Summer Solstice Century. I rode it in '06 on a 100+ degree day--not recommended! The Quincy-LaPorte climb and descent is one of the all-time best. The Oroville-Bucks Lake return is one big grunt. Beware!
pike's peek out meb444 Jan 26th United States > California > Oroville 108.1km Recreational, Training, Onroad, Steep, Difficult, Rural, Scenic
