West Loch Lomond - Joys mazza Aug 29th 2008, 11:35 152.9km
Depending what we do the day before this could be shortened.
Fort Augustus - Tyndrum mazza Aug 29th 2008, 11:32 125.7km
Plotted along A82 although there are quieter roads as an option to begin with which would not add much distance wise. Options to stop at tyndrum or continue further
Lairg/Carbisdale/Tain - Fort Augustus mazza Aug 29th 2008, 11:21 131.3km
This route can work from Lairg, Carbisdale or Tain. Takes us across Kessock bridge which would be pretty cool. Heading south of Loch Ness means less traffic , no tour buses and better views of the loch. Bit of a climb out of Inverness but a nice 5 miles descent into Fort Augustus. Campsite and hostels in Fort Augustus.
JoG - Carbisdale YH mazza Aug 29th 2008, 11:20 152.6km
If we are thinking about youth hostels then I think it would be cool to stay here - a real castle!
JoG to Lairg mazza Aug 29th 2008, 10:39 155.2km
A few miles longer than cycling down the A9 to Tain. No more climbing than route to Tain. Quieter roads than the A9. Campsite at Lairg.
