| Inspired by Kirth Kiln Playtime and Ship Rock Roller from Kieran Ryan's "Off road cycling adventures" and from some excelent riding during MTB-orienteering events held in this area. The first and last thirds of the ride have some steep decents and climb, but the main loop out to Basan Corner is a gentle ride up an unsealed road (unless you take the steep optional track). This ride has some great views of the ridge and along the SEC line and a amazing sense of the changing environment as you decend though the cold climbate rain forests. |

| Thanks to the RRR gang for this ride out of Blackwood. It's spit in two with one section West and the other East of the town. Some parts of the East route are not difficult to ride, but also not for the faint hearted due to the exposed nature of the track (a 30m drop into the river if you get it wrong!) |
