This short loop is very challenging with tough hill climbs on Perfumo Canyon Road heading from inland toward the ocean. Scenery is amazing. Traffic is mostly light with no cars at all on perfumo canyon. One small 1/4 mile of dirt road...this is why bikely will not finish plotting the loop. The dirt road is groomed and easy to ride a road bike on.

View the climb stats on this ride...about 3500 feet of climbing on this short route. Equally excellent descents as well. Traffic is moderate to light mostly. Heavy on Hwy 1, but shoulder is very good with plenty of room.

Completely flat route with exceptional Delta Island views. Traffic on 160 gets tight between Isleton and Rio Vista with no shoulder for about 7 miles...ride it fast here and get it over with. 84 and 220 are very remote with no traffic and exceptional river views. Ride across the last two operating river ferries in the Sacramento Delta at Ryer Island then loop back in to Clarksburg. Start early to miss traffic, flat ride, but best for experienced cyclists that can handle cars up close in that 7 mile tight spot.

Park on 40 at Donner Ski Ranch. Descent into to Donner is awesome and quick to Truckee. Snack in Old Town Truckee before 267 climb. The climb is steep and long. Alot of traffic with smooth pavement and very good shoulder. Big descent into Kings Beach. Lake road is rough to Dollar Point, then good again. Tahoe City has a very good bike lane that follows 89 back to Truckee. The road is also very good....traffic, but generous shoulder and smooth. Stop at Squaw Valley Resort to refuel before very tough climb back over Donner summit to end.
