If you sort of enjoy driving in high traffic, this is a great and RELATIVELY safe route. Beware of car doors on Fountain, which is somewhat tame, and Melrose especially. Fairfax can get hairy, but it helps to assert yourself and take the lane. I reversed the route (Culver City to Little Armenia/Los Feliz) and it has a tweak which makes it more pleasant.
