| A lovely bicycle tour with a bit of everything. Highways, small mountain villages, stunning bush gorges, high speed downhill mountain biking on remote eroded fire trails and good old Sydney traffic. Note that this route requires a Mountain Bike! A lot of it is on dirt roads and fire trails.
The ride starts in the Upper Northern Blue Mountains and ends at Windsor on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. You catch the train to the start point at Bell station and catch the train back from the end point at Windsor station.
I highly recommend taking the first day slowly and camping at Bowens Creek. The first part of the ride in the upper Blue Mountains is the more exotic half and will reward a relaxed attitude. I did the ride in two days, with a long hard second day due to an impending thunderstorm, but I would recommend taking three days and camping; either at Upper Colo reserve or Wheeny Creek reserve, on the second night. |

| This is one for the masochists. Not a particularly pleasant ride, but the advantage is you can loop back to your car. The ride features lots of coal trucks, narrow shoulders and ends with 10kms of soul destroying hills on the litter-strewn southern freeway. Enjoy. |

| The route I use to commute to work. The emphasis is on avoiding hills, avoiding traffic and having a pleasant ride, wherever possible. I ride a mountain bike, so some bits of this route are unsuitable for racing bikes. |
