Monkseaton Tyne Pedestrian Tunnel Boldon Marsden South Shields Ferry Loop RobD Apr 21st United Kingdom > England > Newcastle Upon Tyne 42.2km Recreational, Onroad, Offroad, Low traffic, Rural
Low traffic loop going south of the Tyne through parks and via bridle paths to the coast just north of Whitburn, then back via National Route 1 along the coast to South Shields - the ferry to North Shields and then along the coast to Whitley Bay and back to Monkseaton. It's about 35 to 40k depending on your detours - easy and very pleasant.
