| A medium/fast paced ride along to Sunderland (bike paths also available) through the pedestrian tyne tunnel and along the scenic Sunderland sea front to Roker park, meeting back again at the tyne tunnel then heading along North Sheilds - Whitley Bay coast. Ending at Whitley Bay Town Center. Can either be ridden as a pleasant day ride or a nice fitness checker. If you are a keen cyclist you should manage this one quite easily despite the lenght of the route. Has one or two steep accents/decents. Advisable to be a confident cyclist due to lots of road riding! There are shops along route (Whitley Bay, North Shields, South Shields, Sunderland) Route travels through: Whitley Bay, North Shields, Jarrow, South Shields, Whitburn, Sunderland, Boldon, East Boldon, West Boldon, South Tyneside, North Tyneside, Percy Main, Tynemoth. | |||||
