Worst Day of the Year Ride

    This is a fairly low traffic route, if you do it on a weekend. The busier roads have bike lanes, with the exception of West Union. It's a 28 mile loop from the Portland REI out to the Hillsboro REI & back, with 2400' total elevation gain. The climb up to the Zoo at the beginning through Washington Park, & over Thompson toward the end of the ride, are the 2 big 'uns, most all of the elevation gains right there. Route utilizes some semi-obscure paths that are fun but make navigating a bit challenging! Read the cues & you won't get lost!

    I use to commute this every day. I use to live at 18095 Tillamook Drive. I worked at Sulzer Pumps on Front street then Columbia Sportswear in Rivergate. I'm in Austin Texas now. I may add some of my favorite commutes to this site.
