This is a map of the Tracker Riley Cycleway. This shared footpath/cycleway does a loop up and down the Macquarie River in the middle of Dubbo, and branches out to Western Plains Zoo.

The path surface ranges from very high quality concrete and pavers, to packed dirt of moderate quality. The dirt track is rideable on a road bike, but is easier with wide tyres. The path out to the Zoo is concrete and good quality.

    Things to be careful of:
    - Thorns! They are particularly bad in late summer, but if you don't have thorn resistant tyres or tubes, you stand a fairly good chance of getting a puncture at any time of year. This is true anywhere in town, but especially on the cycleway. Be prepared.
    - Magpies! There's a very aggressive one which ranges along Bligh St (eastern side of the river, between LH Ford Bridge and Emile Serisier Bridge). This one bird is sufficient reason to avoid using this part of the cycleway during Spring.
