This is what I currently do, It is approximately 8 miles each way:

Leaving Gloria Rd at Yuba River Circle: Heading Rt onto Gloria
    - Left At Park Riviera
    -Rt at Riverside drive
-L to stay on Riverside drive (by The Trap)
-Continue on Riverside drive; road curves past new hotel, goes under 5 fwy; turn L to stay on Riverside dr after fwy
-Pass by Land Park/Congregation B'Nai Israel
    -Continue on Riverside dr
-Pass by 3 cemeteries (including Masonic Lawn)
-Go through Broadway, Riverside drive changes to 11th st
-Weave through a series of one way streets, Lettered and Numbered, until I reach my destination (near intersection of 7th and L)

My question is, is there a way I can connect Point A and Point B VIA the Sacramento River Trail? I know Capitol parkway goes over the river, and that the river runs past Riverside drive going through the Pocket; I am hoping to be able to at least use the river for part of the ride (It seems to me that the ride would be flatter and deal with fewer 'cages')

I am thinking that I can connect with the river near the Trap at the Pocket end, and somewhere near Capitol Parkway in Downtown.

If you can show the route to me on a map, with turn by turn description, that would be helpful....

    Thanks

Unfortunately, the bike trail along the Sacramento River into downtown is not continuous. The first place you can pick it up off Riverside is at the "green belt" shortly after the light at Havenside. Turn right into the green belt, then take the bridge back over Riverside. This will dump you out onto Clipper. Turn right at the trail/walkway into the park and follow it up onto the levee. You'll only be on it a short while, because the trail ends, and you'll have to descend back onto Riverside. The next place to pick it up is at La Rivage. I have not entered the trail there since the hotel was built, but I believe you can find it through their parking lot. Then you can ride all the way to Miller Park and from there to Broadway. Cross Broadway onto Front Street and continue to Capitol Mall.
