   Hi all,
   
   I'm just getting used to this site, this looks really interesting. So I am in need of a bit of help. I live in Tucson and bike to work. I have to drive up to Phoenix a lot, and stay with my boss at Bethany Home and Central, and work on Mill Ave and Sixth st. I'd like to bike just to get some exercise and not screw up my routine.

   This would approximate the route I want.
   
   Is the Grand Canal road-bike friendly? Is it obvious?
   
   It also looks as though once I get into phoenix proper the bike routes dry up, and the side streets won't easily get me through. Would Van Buren->Grand Canal->3rd Ave work?
