    It would be much safer to do this loop in the opposite direction, as Lakes Road only has a bicycle lane on one side.

    Traffic is pretty patient, and the race spreads out quickly. Right turns make it safer as only two corners - from the start line onto Herd from Lakes Rd and onto Lakes from Jaynes Rd - that require marshalling and making it a low effort event to put on.
