I've cycled to this a couple of times.
- A few of us did this route as the first day of the 11 day Rooty Hill to Lithgow via Gulgong tour over the Christmas/New Year period of 2004/2005.

Facilities en-route:
- The route goes past railway stations at Riverstone, Vineyard, Mulgrave & within a couple of kilometres of the station at Windsor.
- Bike shops in Rooty Hill (Eddie Salas Cycles, Shops 5 & 6, 32 Rooty Hill Road North, Rooty Hill. Ph 02 9675 3817) and Windsor (Windsor Cycles, 293 George St, Windsor, Ph 02 4577 3209).
- Large shopping centres at Riverstone & Windsor. Cafes and pubs in Windsor.
- Other General Stores/Shops at Wilberforce, Ebenzer, Cliftonville and Wisemans Ferry.
- A number of ski parks are passed. Water can be purchased at some of these (but maybe in 6 litre containers).
- Park at North Sackville has picnic tables under shelter, toilets and a rainwater tank.
- Fickle Wombat cafe at St Albans has milk and bread, and are sometimes open for evening meals (We rang ahead and they opened especially for us). Cafe was up for sale. Ph (02) 4568 2078.
- Settlers Arms Inn in St Albans serves meals a couple of days a week, or to house guests.

Camping at St Albans:
- Park with shady trees and toilets across the road from the Settlers Arms Inn.

Alternative accomodation:
- Settlers Arms Inn has limited accommodation. Ph (02) 4568 2111.
- A few B&Bs in the area.
