This is the full route of a 5 day tour around Outer Western Sydney, with the start & finish in Rooty Hill, beside the Railway Station. (See notes on Rooty Hill Railway Station if arriving at the start by train). Except for day 2, the route goes close to one or more railway stations on each day, so there is some scope for leaving or joining the ride midstream.
Camping on the first night is free of charge, but costs up to $14 per person per night (Bents Basin, Jan '08) on the other 3 nights. Note that for Glenbrook camping is supposed to be booked 2 weeks in advance, and 1 week at Bents Basin. Note that water should be carried or filtered at some campsites. Please read comments for each day for route and camping details.

The full route was ridden as an unsupported tour by three of us in April 2008. Another three riders joined us at Windsor on the first day, and finished at Windsor when we passed through on the 3rd day.

Most of the roads are reasonable quiet, although there are a few stretches of busy road and road with less than adequate shoulders. The first two days contain a few reasonable stretches of unsealed road, although I think I've managed to squeeze in at least a short stretch each day. The section at the end of day 1 was fairly corrugated and rutted in April 2008. The majority though are quite reasonable. There are a few good hills - both up & down. I've walked a few of the uphills!

On Day 3, there are several Lookouts & Points of Interest either en-route or via short detours. If visiting a few, it may be worth extending this route over 2 days, and maybe staying somewhere like the A-Vina Caravan Park, which is a few kms east of Windsor. (Address: 217 Commercial Rd, Vineyard, Ph: (02) 9627 1847, email: avina@bigpond.com.au).
Note that at the end of Day 3 there are two steep downhills and 1 steep uphill to negotiate in the last 4 km to the Euroka Clearing campsite once inside the National Park at Glenbrook. Depending on fitness levels, allow around 40 minutes to do this. (This is in addition to the climb up the Lapstone hill from Emu Plains to Glenbrook). Allow plenty of time for the last leg of the ride from Emu Plains !! Likewise, at the beginning of Day 4, you have to negotiate the same hills but in the other direction. This took us over an hour for the first few kms.
