This is the first day of three different tours:

    - 5 Day Outer Western Sydney Loop Tour
    - 3 Day Rooty Hill to Wheeny Ck & Sackville Loop Tour
    - 3 Day Rooty Hill to Wheeny Ck & Wisemans Ferry Loop Tour

See notes on Rooty Hill Railway Station if arriving at the start by train.

    Route Description:
    - Mostly reasonably quiet semi-rural roads. Some stretches of gravel road, some in good condition, but others, like the last few kilometres into Wheeny Ck, corrugated and rough. Suitable for mountain/hybrid/touring bikes with wider tyres.

Facilities en-route (See Cue Sheet for full details):
    - The route goes past railway stations at Riverstone, Vineyard, Mulgrave & within a couple of kilometres of the station at Windsor.
    - Bike shops in Rooty Hill (Eddie Salas Cycles, Shops 5 & 6, 32 Rooty Hill Road North, Rooty Hill. Ph 02 9675 3817) and Windsor (Windsor Cycles, 293 George St, Windsor, Ph 02 4577 3209, The Bicycle Shop / World Of Choppers, 221 George St, Windsor, ph (02) 4587 9511).
    - Large shopping centres at Riverstone & Windsor. There are a couple of other small shops passed at Freemens Reach.
    - Apart from the places mentioned above, additional water & toilet stops are limited. Water is available at Blaxlands Ridge Primary School, a few kms before the descent to Wheeny Ck.

Camping at Wheeny Ck in the Wollemi National Park:
    - No fees, no showers, but there is a small toilet block with flush toilets. Wood BBQs but not much wood lying around. No picnic shelters. Continuously flowing creek (waist deep in places, good for cooling off in if the weather is warm). No drinking water, but water from creek probably suitable for drinking after filtering or boiling. Contact: NPWS Richmond, ph 02 4588 5247.

Alternative Camping site: Upper Colo Camping Area, which is managed by the Hawkesbury City Council. This campsite is about 11 km further on (into the next day's ride).
