Since we add so many points to long routes to try to most accurately model the actual curves taken, when we zoom out, we are not interested in that information. As long as every point with actual data such as a suburb name and description is plotted, every nth other one can just disappear. This will make plotting lines a lot less intensive for the poor browser side script!

So a route that has hundreds of points, when zoomed out, would probably make do with about 80 of those points (more if someone has written more than 80 descriptions of stops!) to draw the rough outline, which is easily handled by the browser with just a bit of delay. At present, merely opening the BR(x) route, for example, doesn't work, becuase the browser keeps complaing every few seconds about script execution time. I gave up on firefox after pressing the "cancel" button about the 30th time. At least konqueor can be told to piss off and just handle the script without asking me every few seconds :)

In fact, add an option to drop the green bubbles, or drop them altogether - what's the need for them?

Add an option to add distance markers as in gmap pedometer.

For editing: Add ability to edit location of points along the route, and to add/delete points along the route. This eliminates the necessity to start from scratch.

Jur - you can edit points along the way by clicking on them twice - once to select, once to "move", then click again to drop. That's why we need the green dots.
