Cycling the whole river Scheldt between Ghent and Antwerp might take around 100 km. So, I looked for an alternative along small roads between Ghent and Lokeren. From there on, you can follow the towpath along the river Durme, till you meet the main river Scheldt. Most of the towpaths are forbidden to cars. The map mentions all cities and villages that you are passing through or along. Finding a place to sleep is no problem for members of 'Vrienden op de Fiets' (Friends on the bike). In Ghent and Antwerp and in a few villages, there are a lot of addresses available. Members of this Dutch non-profit organization receive a booklet with all the addresses.
> www.vriendenopdefiets.nl > English version

Fietslogies
Ghent - Belgium

Have a look at my other maps on bikely.com and on Google Maps where you will find my

Ghent cycling map (Belgium) - Radkarte für Gent (Belgien) - Carte cycliste de Gand (Belgique) - Fietskaart voor Gent (België)

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=117869826318271955714.00043bab69be5b7e20de5&ll=51.055936,3.69278&spn=0.019179,0.042572&z=15&om=1
