town categorisation

    The town/state/country metadata that exists for each route is currently selected by the search term you find the starting location. In my case, searching for "coonabarabran" didn't find anything, but "dubbo" did. So I just zoomed out, navigated up to Coona, then zoomed in again. Alas when I save my route starting from coona, it gets tagged with dubbo, nsw, australia.

    There should be a way to change this tagging after the fact, I believe, but can't find such a method.

    I agree! I just put in a bunch of rides. The first one had Katoomba as the nearest town. Now katoomba is on them all and I can't find a way to edit that either. And I haven't got the energy to delete the whole ride and reenter it under the right town. Michael

    I have the same problem - the nearest town it seems to find are 30 odd miles away - not very usefull - it would be getter if it had a test field to describe this as well - especially as many of the rides I would put in are not really from a town to a town - they are circular routs in the country...

    Otherwise a great idea.

    I would alos like to add a general note about a route rather than a point on it - is that possible?

    "General notes" for a route are on my todo list.

    Town categorisation is a tricky problem. I'm not sure about that yet. I guess we need a way to have "custom" towns. And hope it doesn't get abused or filled with misspellings ;-)

    If you saved initially with the wrong town it is reasonably simple to fix.

    Simply download to gpx, then submit a new route, get the town right, import from gpx and save with new name.
