San Vicente Blvd to LA Beach Bike Path

    In LA, I ride west down San Vicente Blvd and then would like to connect up to the beach bike path as soon as possible going south. Any suggestions on how to do this? So far I've been turning south on Ocean and going down to Colorado (i.e., the Santa Monica Pier), then connecting up there, but does anyone know of a way that gets to the path sooner? I wouldn't mind turning north at the coast briefly if that would help.
