I'm a new user to bikely and am enthusiastic about the idea.

But when I try to navigate a route with the tool at the bottom of the page, it jumps me not to the next point but to the next mile or kilometer, which may be several points beyond where I want to go. It also zooms in, even if I have zoomed out, and I lose my place.

Also, when I find a page worth printing, the streets are often not identified. I can't find them even in my hometown (Arlington, Va.)

I don't know what GPX is. I looked it up and I guess it's a XML version of mapping software. I don't have any, so code just shows up. What software should I get?

Thanks--I know I can make this work somehow.

The auto-zoom when jumping to the next point has been annoying a few people, so I plan to alter this when I make my next set of changes.

The streets will only be identified if the submitter of the route entered them on. We can't get that data from Google Maps, unfortunately.

The GPX format is generally used for importing/exporting routes to GPS units. If you don't have a GPS, it probably won't be of much use to you.
