Safe route: Ft. Belvoir to GW Parkway

    Hi. I'm a school teacher looking for a safe route to get me to work (school) and back with my toddler in the baby trailer and my 11-year-old on her own bike. I live on base at Fort Belvoir and usually drive down Old Mount Vernon Road to the George Washington Parkway. There's a bike route down the GW Parkway I can take until I reach the neighborhood in which my school is located.

    Does anyone know of a safe way to go down Old Mount Vernon Road, or an alternative way to get from Fort Belvoir to the GW Parkway?
