    You could not ask for a better loop anywhere in the world. Let's try it backwards next time.

    I did this route Memorial Day weekend, 2008. This is an excellent route with very little traffic (save for the stretch of US-395 north of Chewelah) and beautiful scenery. Next time I would definitely try it backwards. The first climb on the Springdale-Hunters Road comes too early in the route and doesn't allow for much of a warmup. Doing it backwards would alleviate this issue.
