0.71km 0.27km Collingwood Wellington Rd traffic is pretty heavy in the morning, but the separate bike lane means good travel for cyclists. Condition of the road is quite bad, in patches though, so careful as you zip along - beware of potholes! SSW 188° 0m
2.15km 1.44km Slightly uphill to Freemasons Hospital then nice little run downhill to Wellington Pde. SSW 188° 36m
2.93km 0.78km East Melbourne Watch out for taxis at rank on this corner. There's a marked bike lane, but they ignore it. Cross over Wellington, then enter first gate to MCG. SSW 183° 31m
3.1km 0.16km Take most convenient path down to the MCG proper, and follow new concourse SSE 151° 21m
3.68km 0.58km Pedestrian rail bridge. Change down gears *before* attempting the short but steep climb, and watch out for pedestrians. If you stop, you'll need to get off and push! SSW 189° 10m
4km 0.32km Shared pedestrian/bike crossing lights. SSW 188° 13m
4.46km 0.46km Turn left to follow shared bike path next to road. SE 113° 15m

4.81km 0.12km Make sure you're on the riverside path rather than the roadside path - crossing Punt Rd is a bugger. SSE 142° 11m

5.77km 0.62km Chapel St run is fun, downhill here to Toorak Rd. Watch out for taxis at rank near Toorak Rd., though. They'll pull out without warning, park poorly, etc. Ignore Map view here - out of sync with satellite. SSW 189° 0m
6.71km 0.93km You're not legally allowed to turn left onto Malvern Rd, so duck down Garden St (on corner with Borders Book Shop in Jam Factory), then Bray St. ESE 99° 0m
6.75km 0.05km Ignore street map. There is a street here (continuation of Bray St). Switch to Satellite view to see road. SSW 188° 0m
7.18km 0.42km Prahran These lights can be a bit slow. Relatively gentle climb from here up to Williams Rd. ESE 100° 22m
7.95km 0.77km Climb gets steeper here. The steepest part of this route up to next waypoint. ESE 99° 31m
8.38km 0.43km Top of climb. A bit of downhill now to rest the legs and catch breathe. ESE 99° 47m
8.81km 0.44km Toorak At Orrong Rd intersection, move into right hand lane if possible, and make sure cars behind you see you! Cross over Orrong then signal right immediately. Turn right into Beatty Av. Alternative is to do hook turn into Beatty, which can take some time. Alternatively, use pedestrian lights. SSE 143° 40m

9.71km 0.39km You can cross straight over to Morey, then do an illegal turn into Kooyong Rd. I prefer to ride up High St., do a hook turn into Kooyong instead. ESE 100° 47m
9.85km 0.14km Armadale Hook turn here. Initial downhill run will get the speed up, then final fairly gentle hill up to Wattletree. You'll feel it in the legs, but it's not a killer. SSW 188° 52m
10.49km 0.65km Downhill run here, nice after that small climb. ESE 99° 58m
11.26km 0.77km Malvern Hook turn into Glenferrie. No Right Turn sign lit up in morning rush hour (up to 10am). SSW 187° 60m
11.52km 0.26km Take Station St to follow railway line. Will take you to Princes Hwy. SSE 140° 58m
12.09km 0.57km Caulfield Here you join with Princes Hwy. You can either ride on the grade separated bike path (very bumpy, narrow, often pedestrians, blind corners and bushes) or on the highway (busy, no bike lane). If you get the lights from station st., you should be able to make the next set of lights before the main traffic gets to you, then it's safer. SSE 141° 50m

13.26km 0.3km Take the pedestrian crossing across. Lights can be slow, so alternative is to ride down to Waverley Rd intersection and join traffic turning right into Princes Hwy. SSW 201° 55m
