Cumulative Distance Where Notes Direction Elevation
km 0km Shadyside Walnut St in Shadyside is some of the most expensive real estate in the city - which may reserve it for the bourgeois, but for the rest of us that means clean streets and hip clothing stores. If you haven't eaten yet, stop in at the Pittsburgh Deli Company just off of Walnut St on Copeland and have some of the best sandwiches in the city. ENE 66° 280.2m
.6km 1.6km East Liberty Although pretty rough around the edges, East Liberty is home to Whole Foods (a great, if expensive, organic grocery store) and a good counterbalance to the excess found in Shadyside. W 248° 275m
.49km 3.88km Lawrenceville The hippest up-and-coming neighborhood in the city, Lawrenceville is home to a plethora of cool coffee shops (try Coca Cafe at 38th & Penn) and design companies (check out 1662designzone.com). WSW 228° 238m
.48km 2km The Strip District By night, it's a blazing club scene, during the day it's a marketplace of the freshest local produce you can get in the city. WSW 230° 224m
.08km 1.6km Downtown The Golden Triangle is a good stopping point to have a drink and suck in that good downtown air... Remember, this is a busy city so be careful and follow the rules. (Or so my dad would tell me.) SW 207° 224m
.37km 2.3km South Side If you're in to bar crawls, South Side has more than you could ever want... E 88° 237m
.95km 2.57km Tricky Situation As you cross the Birmingham Bridge (stay to the right if you decide to ride the bridge or take the sidewalk on the left if you want to be safe) you'll want to take the first exit on your right (or for sidewalkers, just go to the bottom and cross the street). There's a sidewalk which will get you up through the fast moving highway streets here, and I strongly suggest you take it. You'll need to cross a busy on ramp so just take your time and wait until it's completely clear - these cars are moving faster than you think!) E 85° 225m
.79km 0.84km South Oakland The rough and tumble version of its college kid counterpart, you'll get more keg parties per capita here than any other part of the East End. NE 24° 274m
.52km 0.73km Oakland With Pitt and it's medical counterpart, UPMC, this is such a bustling area that it's often referred to as the second Downtown (and probably more relevant...) NE 44° 278m
.92km 2.4km Shadyside Back to the rich and clean streets of Shadyside... E 83° 290m
.44km 0.52km NNW 334° 280m
