This is a cue sheet for the Chipping Norton to Riverwood commute 1 Bicycle Map. You can print it out for later use.

Cumulative Distance Where Notes Direction Elevation
0km 0km Chipping Norton From the intersection of Riverside Dr and Arthur St Head through the "Road Closed" barriers to Arthur St, a bike with panniers can JUST squeeze through. Some trailers won't make it. Much of Arthur St is blue metal or pot-holed. Consistent wet weather can put some of it underwater. But at least now its closed to motor vehicles the surface shouldn't keep getting giant holes in it and its quiet. ESE 112° 7m
0.54km 0.54km Chipping Norton Theres another "Road Closed" barrier here. The widest gap to get a bike through is to the right, you'll likely have to dismount. Bugger. E 86° 5m
0.7km 0.16km Chipping Norton Right into Rickard Rd. SSE 148° 8m
1.14km 0.44km Chipping Norton Left onto Newbridge Rd. Head towards the right turn lane, we need to go right at the next set of lights. At peak times this is going to be difficult to do as Newbridge Rd is busy and you have 3 lanes to cross. An alternative is to use the underpasses of Milperra Bridge. SSE 149° 3m
1.38km 0.24km Milperra Right into Henry Lawson Dr at the traffic lights. If you are at the front of the queue, you need to be right in the middle of the lane over the top of the sensor to trigger it. SSE 144° 6m
1.41km 0.03km Milperra Watch for vehicles on your left from the slip lane. May 2008 Henry Lawson Dr has just been resurfaced. Oct 2008, you might notice the new bike path to your right. SSW 202° 6m
1.71km 0.3km Milperra There is a narrow bridge ahead. There is no shoulder across it and traffic is typically fast and aggressive here, often crossing the double white lines to overtake a cyclist, even when theres trucks coming the other way. Either pick up speed to merge with the traffic and take the whole lane, or wait for a break. SW 220° 8m
1.77km 0.06km Milperra Bridge, road narrows, no shoulder. SW 217° 8m
1.82km 0.05km Milperra May 2008 Henry Lawson Dr has just been resurfaced. There is now a narrow but smooth shoulder. It used to be rough, loose and full of debri. SW 213° 5m
2.29km 0.47km Milperra Veer left off Henry Lawson Dr across the grass to Ingram Ave. E 78° 10m
2.44km 0.15km Milperra Cross Whittle Ave, watch out for traffic. ESE 99° 8m
2.66km 0.22km Milperra Follow Ingram Ave around to the left. If you want a shorter route you could veer right instead and use the footpath to get to Bullecourt Ave. NNE 11m
2.75km 0.09km Milperra Right into Whittle Ave. ESE 100° 7m
2.98km 0.22km Milperra Right into Keysor Pl. SSW 187° 6m
3.06km 0.09km Milperra Left into Bullecourt Ave. ESE 100° 10m

3.73km 0.25km Milperra Watch out you don't get squeezed here near the right turn lane into the uni. ESE 101° 25m
3.98km 0.24km Milperra Roundabout, turn right into Horsley Rd. SSW 182° 22m
4.34km 0.36km Milperra Rondabout, veer left and use the slip lane to turn left into Beaconsfield St. SSE 137° 17m
4.8km 0.47km Revesby Intersection of Beaconsfield St and Marigold St. For some reason I can't fathom, lots of car drivers seem unable to see a cyclist approaching in clear view from the west, and will pull out in front of you. ESE 100° 20m
5km 0.2km Revesby Theres a pedestrian crossing and some small islands in front of you. To your right is a footpath to Wall Ave to the south. ESE 100° 20m
5.81km 0.81km Revesby Traffic lights, cross Queen St. ESE 101° 22m
6.43km 0.62km Revesby Road narrowing, pedestrian crossing. Lots of inattentive drivers at peak school start and finish time. ESE 99° 33m

7.98km 0.27km Padstow Roundabout, left into Howard St. ENE 50° 31m
8.16km 0.18km Padstow Parked cars and traffic islands ahead, its best to pick up speed and take the lane to avoid getting squeezed. ENE 50° 29m
8.36km 0.2km Padstow Traffic lights at intersection of Howard St, Memorial Dr and Padstow Pde, continue along Howard St . I find it best to use the right hand lane. Padstow Station is on your left, Beacon Cycles is coming up on your right, cafes and fish and chip shop nearby. E 88° 21m
8.42km 0.06km Padstow Bus stop on the left. Beacon Cycles bike shop on the right. E 86° 21m

9km 0.3km Padstow Traffic lights, cross Davies Rd to Trevone St. ESE 93° 21m
9.26km 0.26km Padstow At the end of Trevone St head to the grass lane between houses that leads to Salt Pan Creek. On summer nights look out for the large spider webs. A flock of magpies is often nearby (never had problems with them dive-bombing). SSE 141° 12m
9.31km 0.06km Padstow Left onto the path. Path is unsealed but normally in good condition. NNW 352° 8m
9.41km 0.1km Padstow Path reaches the eastern end of Meagher Ave. Head to the right towards the Salt Pan Creek boardwalk. Boardwalk can be slippery in the wet. Be aware that bikes are banned from being ridden on the boardwalk :-( . I still ride it, pull up for pedestrians. It is expected that late 2008 the K2RQ project will close the boardwalk for at least 9 months. Theres already been two weeks of closure during 2008. N 9m
9.44km 0.02km Padstow Boardwalk starts. ENE 59° 7m
9.56km 0.13km Padstow Tight corner, path then goes under railway. People often fish here (don't eat the fish). NNE 5m
9.59km 0.03km Padstow Right to use the bridge to cross Salt Pan Creek. There are about three steps up here, or a wheelchair ramp with tight turns. If you turned left instead and followed the boardwalk it takes you further up Salt Pan Creek and eventually a route to Bankstown. ESE 95° 2m
