This is a cue sheet for the 6-23-07 Folsom South Canal Ride Bicycle Map. You can print it out for later use.

Cumulative Distance Where Notes Direction Elevation
0km 0km Start at power inn and Elder Creek This is in reality about 3 and a half miles from my actual start, my house but there are shopping centers and the like around if you want to park near here... I'd recommend parking at the park and ride North of here at the Folsom and Power Inn light rail station. It is about 4 miles north of here and has a crappy RR crossing but parking is free and patrolled. ESE 90° 14m
8.99km 8.99km Elder Creek base of one of the few hills on this route. Enjoy the climb, say hello to the barking dogs on the NW corner of Escelsior and Elder Creek W 270° 26m

29.83km 3.4km Canal If you are looking at the Sat/hybrid view, the strip mine at the left is now left fallow and actually quite pretty. They can only go down so far around the valley here because we have a high water table. N 33m
30.54km 0.71km canal Careful.. this little part floods out in the Winter (notice the dry riverbed??) NNE 34m
30.84km 0.3km Jackson and Sunrise There is a park and ride here if you want to have free parking and make this your trailhead. This does hook up to the American River Bike trail but that's not where I went on this ride. NE 36° 37m
32.68km 1.84km Canal Whew!! Top of a big hill... unless you wussed out and stayed on the flats NNW 356° 41m

53.89km 1.53km Bike trail Watch out for zombies... NW 303° 13m
58.28km 4.39km Bike Trail/Watt Ave If this all looks washed out, I think they took this pick several years ago when they were expanding the bridge. The only bad thing is.... W 265° 14m
58.34km 0.06km Bike Trail and Watt Ave ...the only bad thing is the odor from the pit outhouse right here. There are flush ones across the river if you need to go. Cross on the Watt, it has nice bike lanes now and you can stay over there until Guy West, there is a bit of bike trail between Watt and the college as well. W 251° 14m
61.9km 3.56km Guy West Bridge Look at the perty Water... and the hotties. This is where I filmed the last part of my 6-23-07 video journal WSW 236° 12m
